Valentine’s Day Spotlight: Coloft's Cameron & Avesta Rasouli

Love is in the air in Silicon Beach and we thought it appropriate to spotlight one of the area's favorite entrepreneurial couples, Cameron & Avesta Rasouli, founders of the co-working space and startup community-hub Coloft. They offer BetterWorks to any mobile worker who passes through and are generous supporters of the local tech community.
Work and love often don't mix, but in this instance they do, to inspiring results. It's not every day you see a husband and wife team running a business. We asked how they do it.
Cameron shared some special news, as well as some valuable insight for anyone working with a significant other.
BW: What challenges do you face as a married couple that's also in business together?
CR: In the beginning, we had a hard time working together, just because both of us have strong personalities and we can both be a bit controlling. But once we learned to trust one another in business (more than ever), and let it go, and do our own thing, we realized the outcome was so much better and that working together was more rewarding than ever.
BW: How do you separate work from romance? Is it possible?
CR: We try our best to keep work at work, and not talk about it home. Sometimes it's tough, but it's the best way to go about it. We also have date nights.
BW: Has being business partners brought you closer together?
CR: Definitely. There's no one else we trust more than one another, and to know that each of us has the other's back is the best feeling.
BW: What's the best thing about working together?
CR: Getting to spend time together. We would have such insane schedules if we didn’t work together, we would never see each other, so this way both of us are happy.
BW: Are you doing anything special for Valentine's Day at the office (for each other and/or co-workers)?
CR: Well, I’m preggers with twins, so I assume that Avesta will be "cooking" up something. And the day after Valentine's Day is actually our two-year Coloft anniversary, so we're going to do something fun with our members for sure.
BW: Anything you’d like to add about your co-founding journey?
