From hiring and retaining top talent to building their leadership pipeline, developing and motivating a workforce to meet the goals of today and the needs of tomorrow is a critical and complex challenge. To help our customers and peers, Betterworks created MOTIVATE, a groundbreaking series of HR-industry focused regional events that will be held in cities throughout the United States. First launched in 2018, so far in 2019, we’ve held MOTIVATE events in Silicon Valley and New York City, both of which were attended by hundreds of HR professionals!

These events provide regional HR leaders a convenient half day of learning and inspiration from some of the top minds in the industry such as noted analyst and Betterworks board member Josh Bersin, as well as a welcome opportunity to meet and network with their peers and share the latest trends and tactics in performance management.

“The biggest challenge facing today’s business leaders is improving workforce productivity and performance,” said Bersin. “The key to sustained competitive advantage is adoption of continuous performance practices that are seamlessly integrated into the employee’s flow of work, and Betterworks’ continued innovation in this space demonstrates its understanding of how HR technology must support each enterprise’s unique process and provide value to the employee.”

If you weren’t able to attend either the New York or Silicon Valley events, here’s just a small taste of what was shared:

Josh Bersin, Global HR industry analyst member of the Betterworks Board of Directors keynoted both Silicon Valley and New York events. Josh shared how changes in the modern workplace are driving organizations to fundamentally rethink how they approach performance management. He advised that in order to create (and sustain) competitive advantage your performance management program needs to evolve to be continuous and include goals, conversations and insights. Be sure to follow Josh’s blog to stay abreast of his current research and latest insights.

Doug Dennerline, CEO of Betterworks, kicked off both events by underscoring the very real business impact that comes when organizations evolve how they motivate and inspire their workforce. Among the insights that Doug shared were results that Betterworks customers who are publicly traded have enjoyed a 15% performance increase over the indices.

Jason Averbook, Founder and CEO of LeapGen spoke at Motivate NYC providing insights into how to build a performance management program to fit the needs of your unique organization — starting with a vision map to help your entire organization stay focused on the measures of success and not get distracted along the way. Text betterworksmotivate to 44222 to see his presentation slides and be sure to follow Jason on Twitter to stay on top of LeapGen’s latest research.

Joan Goodwin, Manager at Deloitte Consulting LLP, shared her thoughts on creating a performance management program that will help make your organization irresistible to attracting and retaining top talent. Joan explained how you need to start with the end in mind and be clear about the purpose, know your desired outcomes and understand what mindsets need to shift in order to achieve the employee experience you want.

Anup Yamanandra, Chief Product Officer at Betterworks, shared 3 important HR technology trends and then demonstrated how Betterworks is truly in the flow of work for every manager and employee in your workforce — making it easy to achieve the desired business outcomes of alignment toward top priorities and top talent retention and development.

It has been an inspiration to all of us at Betterworks to see so many of our peers, customers and industry leaders gather at MOTIVATE. The amazing attendance we saw in New York and Silicon Valley was a powerful reminder that organizations around the globe are increasingly recognizing the need to quickly move beyond the outdated annual performance review and adopt the data backed, continuous approach to performance management pioneered by Betterworks. Stay tuned in the coming months as we announce additional MOTIVATE events and follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn to keep abreast of our latest content and insights.
